About Us

the Fort Pitt Bears or FPB is a social group consisting of non-dues paying members that identify as males and have a shared interest.

This group allows people interested in an activity or subject to congregate and interact with one another regardless of financial status, race, religion, political officiation, or sexual preferences. Commonly organized examples include game nights monthly "Bear Night" at local taverns or bars, weekly/monthly happy hour socials, seasonal adventures such as swimmers, camping, and snow tubing, and regular dining activities.

Organized activities are generally designed to stimulate socialization, promote interaction within the group as well as networking with other social groups. Participation in any individual activity or event is completely left to the member, and under no circumstances, should anyone feel as if they’re being forced to participate. The selection of activities chosen is thought out to best support a more rounded selection of activities in the greater Pittsburgh area supporting a variety of demographics.
